Kicking off in SY23-24, the South Carolina Upstate League was formed unofficially to improve competition and camaraderie between units in the Greenville area. Wren, Laurens, Mauldin, TL Hanna and Boiling Springs High School Navy JROTC units coordinate competition and participation in each other's competitive events. Ideally, each school hosts at least one event in each area, but may easily co-host with another unit if necessary.

Points are awarded to each unit for competing in Academic, Drill, Marksmanship and Athletic competitions. An annual trophy is awarded to each unit with the most event points and to the unit with the highest point total.
