Teams
We have several teams that you can be
apart of!
Academic
The Academic Team focuses on a gaining deeper understanding of the Naval Sciences and being able to recall that knowledge in competitions like "Brain Brawls" ... essentially Jeopardy for NJROTC subjects. Cadets learn information from maritime history to nautical sciences, relevant to the US Navy, its allies, or its adversariies to be put to the test in Competitions like the Navy National Academic Exam.
Drill
Drill Team is group of highly motivated cadets who focus on confidence and teamwork. We thrive on our team building skills as well as the pride our cadets develop. Our team takes every opportunity to show off our hard work in overnight drill meets, one-on-one competitions, and school-hosted events. Cadets who join the drill team increase their self-confidence and earn the respect of those around them.
Orienteering / Athletic Team
The team includes the Orienteering team and our Athletes team. We focus on not only our cadets' athletic abilities but their physical well-being and positive attitude towards being active. While practicing TTO, Training Time Out, our goal is to help your cadet find motivation and enjoyment in PT (physical training) and find a way to bond over being active together. We participate in drill meets, which includes an athletic portion, and we also participate in a athletic competition and Orienteering competitions. Orienteering is very a good way for cadets to get introduced into a new environment and for cadets to get comfortable and confident with using a map and compass to find markers as fast and efficient as they can.
Drone
Our drone team is a highly skilled and dedicated group of individuals who are passionate about all things related to drones. From learning the technology and history of drones and creating obstacle courses to practice for competitions, our team is committed to delivering exceptional results. With a strong focus on crew coordination, we strive to stay at the forefront of the rapidly evolving drone industry.
Rifle
Air Rifle will help you build self-discipline, patience and precision. Using state of the art air rifles and electronic firing ranges, the Air Rifle team travels to compete in Shoulder to Shoulder (STS) matches against other teams. Firearm safety is the bedrock objective of the program and cadets
develop their skills in the Kneeling, Prone and Standing postions. There are also opportunities to go to summer camps to hone shooting skills.
Color Gaurd!
Color guard is a way to connect with people! You will have the opportunity to present our Natons' Colors and start events like Football Games or rememberance ceremonies patriotically. The team competes at drill meets performing various manuevers and flag presentation profiles. Every cadet will get the opportunity to perform in the color guard.
